RURAL TOURISM AND SHORT SUPPLY CHAIN THEMATIC TRAININGS FOR LOCAL ACTION GROUPS

LEADER APPROACH IMPLEMENTATION TRAININGS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE ONGOING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT, NAMELY RURAL TOURISM AND SHORT SUPPLY CHAIN THEMATIC TRAININGS FOR LOCAL ACTION GROUPS WERE CARRIED OUT ONLINE.

In order to promote the LEADER Approach; targeting the the 1st and 2nd phase districts, in order to raise awareness of the local residents of the potential YEGs to be established in Balıkesir, Burdur, Bursa, Çankırı, Elazığ, Erzincan, Giresun, Hatay, Isparta, Karaman, Kütahya, Mardin, Muş, Uşak and Yozgat province; as well as the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Directorate and Rural Development Support Agency Provincial Coordinators in 27 IPARD provinces, including stage provinces, to liaison representatives were delivered an Online “Rural Tourism and Short Supply Chain Thematic Training on 20 and 21 April 2021.

To Local Action Groups; the role of LEADER approach and YEGs in the development of both rural tourism and short supply chains was explained and information was given on the importance of rural tourism in EU countries and our country, how to increase the awareness of both producers and consumers in the establishment of farm tourism and short supply chains, etc.

In the training where the Managing Authority President Mr. Osman YILDIZ made the opening speech; 2 experts from EU countries and 2 local experts shared their experiences on Rural Tourism and Short Supply Chain issues.
