My name is Ekrem Emin Yıldırım and I am one of the partners of the Sidera Mosaic Enterprise operating in Isparta. I have been working in natural stone sector since 1996. I have worked as a worker, and become foreman and principal foreman in time, but never had my own production facility. Sidera, which was founded by using IPARD funds, is the first enterprise belonging to us. I have heard about the IPARD support from my relatives, then I received detailed information from the Isparta Provincial Coordination Unit of ARDSI. I was not able to realize this project on my own resources, then one of my relatives with whom I have been working for a while and I decided to start this business together. We established a small family business. We only purchased machinery and equipment under the IPARD grant support. We have 17 employees presently but the number of employees increases up to 32 during intensive periods. We have 9 woman employees. Since design process in which the patterns are created requires patience and attention, we prefer woman employees for designing process. In the beginning we faced some marketing problems but we have customers now. We also export our products abroad, our biggest buyer is USA. Thanks to our new machinery we can produce quality products. We don’t have any problem in finding raw material and workers. We brought our experience and knowledge together. IPARD solved our financial problem and we then established this enterprise together. We are grateful to our government for providing this opportunity.
