We are expanding the National Rural Network of Türkiye to the whole country as the Turkish Common Agricultural Policy Network under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry within the scope of the 2023 Century of Türkiye.
The CAP Network, based on the understanding of trust, cooperation and learning together, is a structure that will work in cooperation with agricultural and rural development institutions and organizations, all relevant stakeholders.
In order to have an effective and sound performance of the CAP network structure, a high-level Steering Committee (SC) has been established under the chairmanship of the IPARD Managing Authority and 26 Regional central provinces have been identified to cover 81 provinces. In order to conduct the work related to the CAP Network structure in Türkiye, the first field work was carried out in Kayseri, Nevşehir, Karabük, Balıkesir and Hatay provinces from August 28 until September 1, 2023, regional coordination offices were created and the story of change in the countryside has started to be written through the CAP network.
During the visits to Hatay that lasted 4 days between the dates of August 28 - September 1 during which functioning, aims and objectives of the CAP NETWORK were discussed, representatives of all institutions and organizations related to agricultural policies and stakeholders convened; networks have started to be formed.
On August 29, 2023, Managing Authority expert Ömer KARAÇAYLI and Project Expert Nazlı DENGI visited Hatay Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Director Ergün ÇOLAKOĞLU with the participation of Hatay Governor Mustafa MASATLI and Deputy Governor Mr. Can ATAK and provided information about the Common Agricultural Policy Network. As a result of the information visits, the establishment and assignment work for the Hatay Regional Coordination Office of the Common Agricultural Policy Network of Türkiye have been launched.
Within the scope of CAP activities, meetings were held with Hatay Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution ARDSI Hatay Provincial Coordination Unit, Hatay Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, Hatay Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Provincial Directorate of National Education, Hatay Chamber of Agriculture Provincial Coordination Directorate.
Institutions and organizations in the province that suffered great damage due to the earthquake are working in tents and containers and working intensively on the ground. For this reason, activities to provide information were carried out in the form of on-site visits on the ground. During the visits, while information was provided on the structure of the CAP network, the problems of the region were discussed. All the institutions and organizations interviewed stated that they would provide their support by participating in the Common Agricultural Policy Network of Türkiye.
