The main working principle of the Common Agricultural Policy Network (CAP Network) in Türkiye is based on trust, cooperation and learning together. It is a collective structure that will work in cooperation with agriculture and rural development institutions/organizations and all relevant stakeholders in accordance with these principles.
In order to manage the CAP Network effectively and soundly, a high-level Steering Committee (SC) was established under the chairmanship of the Head of the Managing Authority, Dr. Osman YILDIZ, and the central provinces under 26 regions to cover 81 provinces were identified. Antalya was designated as one of the central provinces by the Steering Committee, and will also represent Burdur and Isparta provinces. Field activities were carried out in Antalya from October 2 to 6, in order to structure the CAP Network, and the CAP Network Coordination unit was established under the auspices the Governor's Office.
During the meetings that lasted for 4 days in Antalya on 2-6 October, where the functioning, purpose and objectives of the CAP Network were shared, all stakeholders and representatives of all institutions and organizations related to agricultural policy came together; networks have started to be formed.
On October 2, 2023, Managing Authority Expert Ms. Esra Çiğdem and Prof.Dr. Orhan ÖZÇATALBAŞ visited Mr. Erol Tanrıkulu, Deputy Governor of Antalya, at his office with the participation of Izzet KAŞ, Director of the Rural Development and Organization Section of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, and informed them about the CAP Network.
Field visits were carried out on October 3, local businesses and civil society organizations were visited on site, information was provided about the CAP structure and suggestions were obtained. On October 4, Focus Group meetings were also held and various public institutions and organizations were informed about the CAP.
As a result of the Core Group meeting on October 5, 2023, the CAP Network Coordination unit was established under the chairmanship of Mr. Erol TANRIKULU, Deputy Governor of Antalya, and responsibilities were assigned to the relevant institutions.
A Stakeholder Group meeting was held on October 5, as part of the CAP structuring activities in Antalya. Stakeholders were informed about the CAP Network and the opinions of the relevant parties were obtained, whereby the field activity was concluded with the evaluation meeting.
