Within the scope of the field work related to the 81 provincial structuring activities of the European Union Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Network, local meetings were held in Bursa. The general purpose of the meetings is to establish local and regional structures of the national rural network and to strengthen national rural development ties during the EU integration process. During the meetings held in Bursa on October 2-6, 2023, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry experts, representatives of all institutions and organizations related to the agricultural and rural development policies of the provinces and regions and stakeholders came together. Bursa Deputy Governor Mr. Mustafa KILIÇ, Bursa Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Mr. İbrahim ACAR, Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA) Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Muhammed Zeki DURAK, Deputy Provincial Coordinator of the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI) Betül TEKELİ were visited in their offices and informed about the CAP as well as the regional program. The Core Group meeting held in the meeting hall of Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry on the second day was held and chaired by Mr. Mustafa KILIÇ, Deputy Governor. At this meeting, it was decided that the Bursa Provincial Coordination of the CAP Network will be carried out by the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution. Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture Experts, Bebka expert Murat KILIÇ, ARDSI Deputy Provincial Coordinator Betül TEKELI attended the meeting and shared their priorities and suggestions on rural development. Provincial representatives of the Ministries and relevant CSOs participated in the Focus Group Meeting held at the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture. At the meeting, where participation was at a high level, the institutions shared their views on the issues related to their mandate and shared the priorities of Bursa in rural development. The Stakeholder Group Meeting was held at the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. The meeting was held with a high number of participants from Local Action Group Associations, leading farmers in the region, cooperatives as well as all actors of the region in the field of rural development and agriculture. Presentations were delivered to the stakeholders about the CAP Network structuring activities at the meetings with a wide range of participants, and the meetings allowed for a mutual exchanges. Within the scope of the meetings held in Bursa, Esebey Women's Agricultural Development Cooperative (ESEANA), which is one of the examples of good practice in the field of rural development, was visited. Representatives of public institutions and organizations, relevant CSOs shared their ideas on strengthening Bursa's rural development and agriculture-based industry at the meetings.
